Maison contemporaine Musset
decoration of an architect's house
Decoration of an architect's house facing the greenest surrounding nature, this architect's house of 250 m2, long contemporary farmhouse style (inspired by Californian houses of the 1950s) was entirely fitted out and decorated by the design firm and decoration COUTUME{STUDIO} based in Bordeaux.
Driven by a vital need for space, freedom, far from an ounce of partitions or doors, the owners practicing their profession at home, wanted to distinguish their work space (in order to receive their clients completely independently), without however, cutting off the office from the main living room. It was therefore imperative to link these two spaces with a single Dantesque volume made up of two structural volumes: the immense “green” wall (custom-made wallpaper by the STUDIO) and the long wooden bookcase, each 6 and 12m long
A long single storey where light floods in; an architect's house in total harmony with nature: the "plant", an essential point of inspiration for our Decorator duo. From the interior design to the choice of furniture, everything has been designed with the same desire to create sequences, color framing, surprises through wall illustrations, or relevant choices, between “flecked” furniture and contemporary designer furniture: Living Divani sofa, “flecked” coffee table (old converted Indian bed), Bul floor lamp signed Ligne Roset, monumental accessory (Paper Floor-MOOOI floor lamp). Nothing less was needed to absorb this dizzying 85 m2 living room!.
The artistic sensitivity of this house surprises!, an inspiring place, the result of a clever combination between “measure and excess”, texture (linen, wood, animal skins, etc.) and “plant” wall prints.
