For the first time in France, the famous Milanese design agency Studiopepe created an ultra-creative scenography within the very atypical Bordeaux showroom, COUTUME{Studio}.
In a setting with overturned codes, the exhibition Genius Loci exclusively unveiled a selection of pieces from the greatest Italian design brands.
The association of 2 duos of aesthetes
Because creativity born from unprecedented situations is often the boldest, it was during the first lockdown that COUTUME{Studio} and Studiopepe had the brilliant idea of combining their artistic universes and uniting their talents to create an unprecedented design scenography, inspired by the ancient Roman phrase: Genius Loci - a reference to the protective spirit of the place -
An inspirational place
This exceptional collaboration takes as its starting point the aesthetic universe of COUTUME{Studio}, a unique, totally atypical space, which its founders, interior designers Karine & Frédéric Aguiard, have managed to renovate with remarkable skill combined with great aesthetic sensitivity to reveal its unique character and architectural beauty.
The Italian duo from the agency Studiopepe, known for its strong iconographic identity, finds in this exceptional place a source of inspiration to explore the potentialities that characterize the spirit of Genius Loci.
A creative concept strictly linked to Earth and Nature:
COUTUME{Studio} and Studiopepe have designed an original scenography, based on purity and material sustainability: A true ode to raw materials, told in their essence and highlighting the archetypal forms of sculptural furniture pieces designed by Studiopepe for iconic Italian brands: Baxter, Tacchini, CC tapis, Tooy, and Pretziada, complemented by unique pieces made of precious onyx slabs created in collaboration with Alimonti Milano.
Here, the purity of forms plays with the tactility of materials; colors, another very important element in this creative process, are offered in a variety of earth, stone, and paper hues, enhanced by touches of mustard yellow and rust.
Between stylistic innovation and artisanal know-how, unprecedented proposals are woven; the mystery of alchemy operates by creating an unexpected dialogue with the location, combined with a poetic vision of design.
