Ancient statue

Very old wooden statue (between 16th and 18th century), probably from Spain or Portugal.

Period covering the late Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo, marking distinct artistic styles influenced by religious and cultural trends.
Originally, the statue was probably painted with vibrant colors (polychromy), but time and conditions have erased these pigments, leaving only the bare wood.
The marks of time tell a rich story of faith, craftsmanship, and culture.
Its proper preservation and presentation allow us to continue to appreciate and study this testimony to the past.
